Dispelling Myths about Writing Children’s Books — 8 Comments

  1. This is great information, Janice. Besides writing books for children, I also do a lot of editing. Many first-time writers I work with try to write a book before they are ready. You need to learn how to write a book just like you need to learn how to do everything else. No one would drive a car, fly an airplane, or go scuba diving, without first learning how. I also find that many want to write a book so they will make money. Even bestselling authors need another source of income. Many authors are teachers, pastors, doctors, lawyers, scientists, or celebrities. I’ve published more than 100 books and still need my husband to support me. But as you said, the rewards are eternal, and I would not want to be doing anything else! To God be the glory because it’s all for Him!

  2. Janice, this is great information. Joining a critique group and attending conferences are so important. Thank you for mentioning Write2Ignite. Registration for our next conference is now open.

  3. Thankyou Janice, for inspiring young writers like myself to keep these point in mind before taking up the task of writing children’s book.
